Message from the Chair, Kevin Watson
As stewards of the land, grape growers are deeply committed to quality and to growing our industry. Great wine starts in the vineyard, and this connection to the land is at the heart of everything we do.
Growing grapes has been a part of my life for many years. Since 1978, my family and I have been involved in Ontario’s grape and wine industry, and today we farm approximately 100 acres of certified sustainable vineyards. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving on the Grape Growers of Ontario Board of Directors and, more recently, as Vice Chair. I am honoured to take on the role of Chair and to continue serving alongside such a dedicated and passionate group of growers.

Our focus remains on supporting growers, strengthening collaboration with industry partners and government, and building a strong and sustainable future for Ontario’s grape and wine industry. This includes nurturing the next generation of growers, advancing sustainable practices, and ensuring we remain present—both at the table and in the vineyard.
By balancing innovation with the strong traditions that have stood the test of time, we are well positioned for the future ahead.
